Fun Fact:
I became a vegetarian a few months back - well I still eat seafood on occasion - so I guess I’m technically a pescetarian. Many factors contributed to this change in diet (Food, Inc., Fast Food Nation, etc), but what really tipped me over the edge was the book Skinny Bitch by Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin.
Spoiler Alert: Skinny Bitch isn’t necessarily about getting skinny (which wasn’t my intention when I began reading), and if you are a meat lover never planning on second guessing your food choices - be leery of this book. Skinny Bitch exposes issues in the meat and dairy industries and gives an honest healthy dose of reality regarding the processed foods that we jam into our mouths every day.
My decision to become veg has been in the works for quite a while naturally, but I’ll be honest - I feel great about this choice. Maybe it’s my imagination, but I feel like my eyes look clearer, and I’m (slightly) less stressed. In general, I have a more healthy demeanor, and now I think about each and every thing I’m munching on instead of gorging on whatever is in front of my face.
So… Cheers to vegetarian fare!
